Deep garnet red with a bright red rim. Complex nose full of aromas of red and black berries, with subtle notes of graphite, black pepper, biltong and herbs. Smooth, elegant and concentrated on the palate. The tannins are soft and well integrated. Spicy, supple and long-lasting finish.

Together with the districts of Cape Town, Darling, Paarl, Stellenbosch, Swartland, Tulbagh and Wellington, Franschhoek belongs to the South African wine region of Coastal Region. The name is Afrikaans and means “French corner” and dates back to 1688. At that time, around 200 Frenchmen settled in this valley.
The district, which is around 60 km from Cape Town, is one of the most important wine-growing regions in South Africa. Excellent Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Pinotage and Cabernet Sauvignon are produced here.
