Voor Paardeberg

The Voor Paardeberg wine region lies northwest of Paarl at the foot of the eponymous Voor Paardeberg mountain range – a remote but up-and-coming origin within the Coastal Region. The microclimate here benefits from cool Atlantic breezes and strong temperature differences between day and night, allowing for a slow and balanced ripening of the grapes. The soils consist mainly of weathered granite, which gives the wines freshness, structure and minerality.

Although Voor Paardeberg is a relatively young wine region, it has already made a name for itself through sustainable viticulture, nature-oriented practices and the work of innovative winegrowers. White wines such as Chenin Blanc and Rhône-typical grape varieties such as Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Viognier are particularly noteworthy here. Syrah, Grenache Noir and Mourvèdre also play an important role in the red wines – often pressed in an elegant, European-inspired style.

Lautus is a South African brand that specialises in high-quality non-alcoholic wines. The name ‘Lautus’ comes from Latin and means “pure” or ‘refined’ – a clear reference to the company’s philosophy: authentic wine enjoyment without alcohol, but with character, depth and structure.

Lautus Cabernet Sauvignon is made from carefully selected grapes that ripen in South African wine regions under optimal climatic conditions. After classic vinification, the alcohol is removed from the wine using a particularly gentle process, so that the typical characteristics of the grape variety are largely retained.
