Sweet aromas of tropical fruit with a hint of lemon on the nose. Fresh on the palate, very mineral, reminiscent of flint and graphite. A powerful Sauvignon Blanc with a long finish.

Cape Agulhas
Cape Agulhas is the southernmost region of Africa. It is known for the dividing line of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. How the name “Cape of Needles” came about is unclear. One theory is that the sharp-edged reefs are the reason. The other theory is that the compass needle of the Portuguese sailors pointed exactly north. Together with Elgin, Overberg and Walker Bay, the district is part of South Africa’s Cape South Coast wine region.
The coastal region has a great diversity of species, as there are over 2000 different plants. In summer, strong, cool winds blow here, ensuring a cool ripening period. These conditions lead to ideal conditions for the cultivation of Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc.

Lomond
The Lomond wine estate is located in the Cape Agulhas wine-growing region, the southernmost point of Africa. It was founded in 2000 by David Mostert and is considered a young, up-and-coming winery. Today it is owned by David Mostert and Geoff Mclver. The first pressing of the grapes was carried out in 2019, as the winery was only established then.
Lomond comprises a total of approx. 1,012 hectares of land, which also includes a water dam. Vines are planted on approx. 120 hectares, of which approx. 70% are red grape varieties. The vines are planted on 18 different soil types. This diversity of soils and the relative coastal climate make for exceptionally complex wines and give them great complexity.

In addition, the winery has been a member of the Association for the Conservation of Biodiversity for almost 20 years. It protects and promotes special fynbos species that only occur in this area and are endangered.
