Breedekloof
The Breedekloof wine region is nestled between majestic mountains and fertile valleys in the west of South Africa, near Worcester. It is considered one of the younger but up-and-coming regions in the country. The winegrowers here benefit from a temperate climate, nutrient-rich soils and a reliable water supply from rivers and mountain springs – ideal conditions for high-quality viticulture.
Breedekloof is particularly known for its fresh, fruity white wines, especially Chenin Blanc, which often impresses with its tropical aromas and lively acidity. Red wines such as Pinotage, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon also mature perfectly under these conditions. Many wineries in the region work sustainably and combine traditional methods with modern cellar technology.

The winemakers from Breedekloof are characterized by their sense of community and innovative spirit. In recent years, the region has made a name for itself through its “Breedekloof Makers” initiative – a group of dedicated winemakers committed to the pursuit of quality and terroir expression.

Olifantsberg
Olifantsberg lies secluded and untouched in the mountains near Worcester, in the heart of the Breedekloof region. The vineyard is located at around 700 meters above sea level and is characterized by an impressive natural landscape. This altitude ensures cool nights and large temperature differences between day and night – ideal conditions for elegant, structured wines with freshness and depth.
The winery pursues a holistic, sustainable approach. Olifantsberg works completely organically and attaches great importance to biodiversity, soil health and minimal intervention in the vineyard as well as in the cellar. The vines are rooted in poor, stony soils, which results in low yields but highly concentrated grapes.

The focus is on grape varieties such as Chenin Blanc, Grenache, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines from Olifantsberg are characterized by precision, tension and a clear terroir imprint. The work in the cellar is deliberately restrained: spontaneous fermentation, little new wood and long maturation periods ensure authenticity and expression.
Olifantsberg stands for uncompromising quality, respect for nature and wines with character. Each wine tells the story of its origin – raw, elegant and unadulterated.
