Overberg
The climate in Overberg is strongly influenced by the nearby ocean. Cool sea breezes and frequent fog ensure a long ripening window for the grapes, which leads to a great variety of aromas and elegance in the wines. The region is particularly well known for its excellent Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, which thrive in areas such as Elgin and Walker Bay on high altitudes with well-drained soils. Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and even traditional method sparkling wines also find ideal conditions here.
At Savinis you will find the best producers from the Overberg region such as Paul Cluver, Iona, Creation Wines or Hamilton Russell – wineries that produce wines with a distinct terroir character with care, a spirit of innovation and sustainable cultivation.
