AFRIKOA was founded in 2016. It is a subsidiary of the Swiss Hochdorf Group. At the beginning, 10,000 bars of chocolate were produced per month. The production capacity is now almost 20,000 bars per day.
Best bean quality – fairly produced
AFRIKOA sources its cocoa beans directly from African farmers in Tanzania. The best fruits are selected through direct contact on site.
“We trade directly with the farmers and thus obtain the freshest cocoa beans of the best quality. We pay fair prices and this benefits the cocoa farmers directly. The cocoa farmers earn 250% compared to the price they receive from international traders.

Just a few weeks after the beans leave the farms in Kyela, Tanzania, they are processed. In international trade, the beans usually lie around in huge warehouses for months. Fresh cocoa beans are intensely tasty and highly aromatic.
