Amarula
A special tree grows in Africa: the marula tree. It is mainly found in the warm regions of sub-equatorial Africa. The average-sized tree can reach a height of up to 15 meters.
Once a year, in February, the fruits of the tree ripen to a golden yellow. The intense tropical scent of the fruit attracts various species of wild animals and herds of elephants. As the fruit is the elephant’s favorite food, the marula tree is also known as the “elephant tree”. However, only the female marula tree bears fruit. These are fleshy, sour and have an exotic aroma. The yield can vary from season to season, but a single tree can bear up to two tons of fruit.

Amarula Cream is made from this mystical tree, the soil and the sun of Africa. Once the ripe fruit of the marula tree has been collected, the seeds are removed and the flesh pressed out of the skin. This is then fermented. After fermentation, the Marula wine is distilled in copper stills. The young liqueur is then matured in small oak barrels for around two years. At the same time, it is enriched with pure marula extract. Finally, fresh cream is added to the liqueur. The process of adding cream is very sophisticated. The result is a cream product that is completely stable, rich and smooth.
