De Toren
The De Toren wine estate is located in the Stellenbosch wine-growing region. Emil and Sonette den Dulk founded the winery in 1994. The tower (de Toren) gives the estate its name. The elevator in this tower makes it possible to work in the cellar solely by gravity, using pumps.
The vines are cultivated on 22 hectares and only red wines are produced. After 12 months of ageing in barriques, the individual wine varieties are blended. The composition may vary slightly from year to year

Winemaker and oenologist Albie Koch was hired by Emil den Dulk. Charles Williams joined in 2008 and became head winemaker at the winery in 2011. The Swiss Daniel Müller took over the management in August 2018.
Their aim is to develop the Bordeaux concept in such a way that it is adapted to the unique South Africa. The aim is to achieve expressive, balanced and complex wines. The winery has now been certified as an organic producer since 2020.
