Gin from South Africa has long been an insider tip for gin lovers around the world. As part of the current gin renaissance, exclusive South African gins are also receiving the attention they deserve.

Unique to gins from South Africa are the plants and herbs used, which ensure natural, balanced, spicy and extremely aromatic taste experiences. It is not uncommon for gins to be created from up to 15 different African plants and herbs. Exotic-looking plants such as Wils Dagga, Honeybush, Buchu or Devil’s Claw are used – the aromas are reminiscent of citrus fruits, juniper or even spices such as coriander, cardamom or licorice.

Despite this rich diversity, gins from South Africa impress with their natural balance and rounded character. A decisive role is played by the cool, pure spring water from the deep soils, which is used in the production process in South Africa.

South African gins can be enjoyed on their own or, of course, with tonic. The Blue Gin from Six Dogs is a special highlight in our range: The intense blue color comes from the Blue Pea plant. By adding tonic water or a little lemon juice, the color changes from blue to pink.

But Ibhu Indlovu Gin is also one of our specialties: The ingredients of the gin are obtained from elephant dung. This is washed, disinfected and dried. It is best enjoyed with a little ice.
