Knorhoek

The Knorhoek wine estate is located on the slopes of the Simonsberg northwest of Stellenbosch and looks back on a long history dating back to 1692. The altitude of up to 350 meters above sea level and the proximity to False Bay ensure a comparatively cool climate, which is ideal for elegant, balanced wines.

The vines grow on weathered granite and slate soils, which provide excellent drainage and give the wines structure and mineral tension. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Chenin Blanc, in particular, benefit from these conditions and show a clear character of origin.

Knorhoek combines traditional viticulture with modern cellar technology. The grapes are selectively harvested by hand and gently processed to preserve their freshness and aroma. The red wines mature predominantly in French oak barrels, developing depth, elegance and good ageing potential.

The winery stands for classic Stellenbosch wines with structure, balance and finesse. Knorhoek wines are accessible, but at the same time sophisticated – characterized by terroir, experience and care.
